I recently acquired a CECHA01 that has a power on time of 3 days total, it’s never been opened, never been updated past firmware 1.10, and it’s Blu Ray drive has never read a game disc before. I was more excited getting this than my PS5 lmfao. It's imo one of the most beautiful consoles. I have a CECHA01 running old REBUG custom firmware. I used to use this thing regularly, especially for ripping my disc games to folders I would copy to my PC and keep for safekeeping. But as with all of these first-gen PS3s, it overheats, a lot, and will eventually shut off.
